Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about the products, the standards, and how to use them safely.
Choosing a product
Dust mask or reusable respirator — which do I need?
If your exposure is dust and your sessions are occasional, a disposable mask is simpler. If you work regularly, or you need to handle solvent and paint vapor as well as dust, a reusable facepiece with cartridges is cheaper per hour and more capable.
Can a dust mask handle paint fumes?
No. Particulate masks filter particles, and solvent vapor passes straight through. For paint, adhesive and solvent work you need activated carbon cartridges.
What is the difference between the four dust masks?
The DM100 folds flat for carrying. The DM200 is a rigid cup for long sessions. The DM300 adds an exhale valve for hot conditions. The DM400 has a wider contact edge and headbands for heavy, long jobs. They all reach the same KN95 filtration class.
Standards and claims
Are these masks certified for use in the United States or Europe?
No, and we do not claim that they are. Our KN95 dust masks are tested to GB2626-2019, a Chinese national standard. We hold no certification from any other national or regional body, and any listing that suggests otherwise is inaccurate.
Are these medical masks?
No. They are consumer dust masks for DIY, workshop and household use. They are not medical devices and are not intended for medical, healthcare, dental or surgical settings.
What does KN95 mean, exactly?
It is a filtration class within GB2626-2019 that requires at least 95% filtration efficiency against non-oily test particles in laboratory conditions.
Do you publish test reports?
We share the GB2626-2019 test report for the KN95 dust masks with wholesale buyers, and with retail customers on request. Ask via the contact page.
Using the products
How long can I wear one disposable mask?
One session is the practical answer. Replace it as soon as it is soiled, damp, crushed, or harder to breathe through. Do not wash it and put it back on.
How often do I change carbon cartridges?
On breakthrough: the moment you can smell or taste the contaminant inside the facepiece. For long jobs, keep a sealed spare pair within reach. Never use carbon cartridges in an unknown atmosphere.
How should I store a reusable facepiece?
Let it air dry fully, then keep it in the supplied bag, away from heat and solvents. Store it with the seal resting naturally rather than folded in one position.
Can I share a mask with someone else?
No. Disposable masks are single-use and personal. Reusable facepieces should also be treated as personal equipment and cleaned between uses.
