Look at the silicone flap before each use. If it is warped or grit is trapped under it, replace the mask.
Wipe your face dry before putting the mask on. Moisture on the skin is the main reason masks slip during long jobs.
A valved mask is still a single-use product. Replace it when it is dirty or the valve stops sealing.
Without one, the warm moisture you breathe out stays inside the mask. The valve gives that air an easy way out, so the mask stays drier and cooler.
No. The valve only opens on the exhale. On the inhale it seals shut, so air still comes in through the filter material.
No. A valved mask sends your exhaled air outwards, so it is the wrong choice anywhere a clean environment has to be protected. It is made for dusty DIY and workshop jobs.
